"I was inspired to write a tune that would capture my affection for Danielle (Ananda) and Michael (Govinda) and their new child, Sita. I called it Sita Ananda as a nod to these two beautiful beings in their relationship as mother and child and the inherent preciousness of that.

Gov and I became very close during one of my tours caregiving for Ram Dass with Dassi Ma. We spent some sleepless delicate nights watching over Ram Dass in the hospital that time back in Feb. of 2019 and then ended up being together the moment RD began dying the following December. These folx are such good friends I wanted to make the sweetest tune I could for them to welcome their baby with.

I began by recalling an old melody that I used to play for RD and Dassi back when i was first living with them and learning music in my spare time. I hadn't remembered it for sometime but it felt right. One day during recording it started raining, so i recorded that in. It felt gentle and sweet- I mean how would you greet a newborn? I wanted to use Momma and baby's names directly to open their hearts, plus they are such beautiful Divine Names.

I hope this is a balm and a salve for you and your ears (headphones reccommended) in this turbulent time of decay and change"
