I composed this track while my dear friends welcomed their first child into the world. I was in their home, dog sitting and holding space. During that liminal time I felt as though I could sing directly to this new being and this song was the result.

When it came time to record, Ram Govind and I recorded a few takes and I scat sang a trumpet solo that I planned to record later. We decided to keep the impromptu accapella solo to reflect the whimsy and playfulness of a father singing to his daughter.

I hope you enjoy this light hearted dance celebrating new life and new love.
